Default Damping rate of 04+ front shocks

We all know suspension characteristics changed in 04' some say that the front was stiffened by %40 and the rear softened by about %5.

Does anyone know if the '04+ front shocks are stiffer or was it a change to the spring rates?

I'm happy with how the rear of my car handles and would like to stiffen up the front. It seems like this would be a very cost effective approach since I'm sure there are people who would be happy to get rid of their front shocks.

Also if you look at the Modulo suspension its main difference was a much stiffer front suspension with adjustable front shocks.

Comments???

Thanks!

I would put money that it is the springs, since shocks are used to control the spring action.

Why not call your Honda parts guy, and compare part no's between various years? If you see a change in 2004, that should be a good indicator.

Just a recommnedation - be careful - the 2004 had a number of changes, including lowering the rear roll center - bolting on parts may result in handling which might or might not please you. If you can find an aftermarket solution, and then find someone who has actually modded their car, and grill them. That is my advice.

I think the fronts were stiffened by about 5% and the rears were softened by about 40% (to reduce the bump steer). It was a chance to the spring rate, not just a shock change.

Details are on the Honda site if you dig around enough.
