Thumbs up Dash cluster flashing

My dash cluster has started flashing when I start the car. It goes out for about a second and then comes back on. Has anyone else experienced this? I was wondering if it has always done this and I have just never noticed. If this is abnormal, what can be causing this to happen?

Video.

All the instruments light up then they all go out, except the ones that should be on at the time (such as speedo and rev counter), if yours is doing something else, get a vid.

I asked this question concerning a Celica I have several months ago. Never got an answer. This began right after a new battery was installed and this did somewhat or almost completely dissapear in the last couple of years. I had to guess that it was electrical and that it had something to do with the alternator or the battery. I'm thinking that since the battery was new, it may have been overcharged or the alternator overcharged the already new battery. Never a problem though, just odd and enough to cause some initial concern.

If it does it constantly then it is probably a bad ground or the alternator.

I've noticed this same exact thing on mine. It's very rare and seems to happen only when it's cold out. Also, it only happens on startup... the whole cluster flickers for a split second.

I've had no other issues with it, and it's been like that for 3 years.

the startup flicker is probably ok, I'm guessing its the airpump kicking in before the car stabilizes itself.
