Dash lights, external lights, fuel pump

Hi Guys,
While driving I started to see smoke coming from the passenger side under dash.
I pulled aside immediately and popped the hood but did not see the smoke. Went back to the cabin and smoke was now gone but smell was electrical.
Car started after this and I monitored. I then drove a few kilometers and noticed, none of the headlights were working(Daytime, indicators, etc). When I shut the car off this time I noticed that the dash lights(Gas, temp, etc) were all on with no key in the ignition. The fuel pump is also not priming anymore.
I have checked the fuses and quite a few had blown in the fuse box under the hood(headlight, indicator).
Under the dash the fuel pump fuse had not blown.
I have done a search and seen that for the pump for instance, ECU goes to C404 under dash then to main relay, C401 and to pump.
I am just wondering if anyone has any input on the issue.
I am thinking something melted/fused some connectors and that is why ignition is always on, pump not priming, etc
Thank you
