The yellow SRS connectors usually have a black release sleeve which has to be pulled back before they disconnect. Directions are in the SRS section of the SM.
The white connectors in the pic have a release tab on the back side of the male connector which has to be depressed to get them apart. Use a small screwdriver to depress and wiggle them apart.

This procedure is no joke. I am almost at the point to where I would have rather paid my stereo shop to do all of this. The dashboard is completely unbolted and most of the connectors are undone. Few more to go. I can't wait till the fun part--removing all the heating/cooling system!
Big props to my wife who is helping me do this and putting up with ALL of my frustrations. She is > all!

Dashboard is out! Half of the heating assembly has been removed and the other half will be done this upcoming weekend. Here are some pics:

Once the whole heater assembly is gone I will spend some time trying to clean-up the wiring.

Dashboard is back in, along with the installation of my Defi gauges! Here are a couple pics:

There are currently two items which are not working:
1. Passenger side window
2. Radar detector (hard wired)
These items can be troubleshooted easy enough. The big test--starting the car--cannot be performed at this time. I have drained the engine oil and radiator coolant so that I can deinstall my turbo kit in preparation for having the engine pulled and fully built.
Anyways, I was happy enough to see the instrument panel turn on.
