Default Dealership cost to replace motor mount?

Just as the title says. What is the cost to replace the passenger side motor mount on our car?? I just called the service department and he quoted me 51 dollars for the labor and 120ish for the mount. It just doesn't seem right, I assumed it was more labor intensive then that?? Anyone have any insight?

No, that seems right. They don't have to pull the whole motor or anything. They just jack it up enough to get the clearance to pull out the old mount and swap in the new one.

IMO, though, might as well do both at the same time. If one failed, probably the other one isn't that far behind.

Yea I have a MY01 and it lived in the north for 5 years and I just recently put an inlinepro turbo kit on and I think it just finished it off. I am getting some weird rattling and all of the symptoms show a bad mount. Thanks. I just hope I can figure out a way to protect the new mount from the heat.

I also understand it is salt that can really do a number on our motor mounts. I've noticed that UK guys and those who live near the beach have reported quicker mount deterioration. Luckily, it doesn't cost all that much to replace them.

I don't know if it's entirely a heat problem, as it is the combination of increased weight and torque.
As for me age as well. But this may not be such a bad idea.

How much heat actually gets that far down? While moving it should get air......

Slightly off topic, but is there any aftermarket engine mounts for the S?
I thought S2000s had great aftermarket support but haven't heard of an engine mount.
thought it was kinda weird..

When you say aftermarket, are you looking for more rigid mounts? Polyurethane or something of that nature?

I think it's been advised against, because it simply redirects the strain the would usually be softened by the mounts, to go back into the drivetrain. Also, vibration increases as a result and I don't believe there is much benefit.

I could be wrong though, I'm just a guy with a desk job and an S

You might want to check the nut on top of the mount. I had a disgusting rattle and noticed the SC intake pipe was leaving marks in the hood insulation (from the motor torquing). I was prepared to replace the "obviously broken motor mount" but when I surveyed the job to see how hard it would be I found the top nut was loose. A quick wrench-job and it's good as new.
