defrost harness

Default defrost harness

just installed a ht on my 2000 s2k. i can't find the four pin harness on the car to plug the defrost harness to. any tips on finding it.

You have a 2000 model year. You will need to buy the installation kit that has the parts in it, or just the parts you are missing. Early 2000 models required that you change the center console because they welded the change holder in place so you could not install the switch for the defroster.

1. Where did you get the hard top?
2. Was it new in the box?
4. What came with it?

got everything from hardtopguy. just can't seem to find the harness that is on the car in the back of the seat. so i can plug the harness it came with.

Does that mean guys with hard tops have spare change holders?

I've been after one for a while.

You know I don't remember now. I bought a Kit at a long time ago. I might have a spare I will look for you.

OK, on a MY00. You will have to install the harness. It should be part of the installation kit. Check the instructions. If you failed to buy the installation kit and only got the HT. Then you need that installtion kit. Give Jeff a call

well, if i dont want to use the defrostor, with out the defrostor installation kit, does it affect the HT installation?

It shouldn't. The electrics for the defroster came in a separate box that included the relay, switch gear for the center console and the wiring harness that goes to the plug holder on the trim piece behind your head.

FYI: The coin holder is screwed in place and is simply unscrewed. Then you substitute the piece that came with the kit. This kit is the one that has the defroster switch and a blank plug to go into the other slot.
