Diagnostic Help
Hey guys, so I bought my Honda S2000 about 4 months ago and I love it. But I've been noticing a sound getting louder and louder from the rear right of the car. It's pretty much a grinding sound (CV joint?) and I just want to get some ideas on what it may be. The owner before me did motocross as well. Thanks everyone.
See if the axel boot is twisted up first thing I would check .. Make noise only when turning ? Then check diff fluid for metal flakes or chunks .. If your diff is going you will see the oil looks like metalic paint . Small flecks of metal every where .. Just a start
Maybe there is a dirtbike tiedown stuck in there
Sounds like a left rear wheel bearing, based on your last post.
When turning left, the left bearing is unloaded reducing the noise. When turning right, the left bearing is loaded increasing the noise.
If the axle nut tsb is performed properly, you will likely never need a new wheel bearing. I am currently at 140k on 4 original wheel bearings, track use with 275 slicks.
