don't mean to thread jack, but i have the same question, plus some technicals

anybody use schaeffer's? I put it in my pickup and noticed major improvements in both accelleration and fuel economy!
With the S2k diff being limited slip, i am a little weary of that stuff being too slick and not letting the limited slip function work. should I even be concerned with this issue because we have helical-type lsd's?

I used Redline pretty religiously after having rear end issues when using the factory Honda fluid they were putting in. I got allot of rough feeling back there with groaning and the whole bit. When I switched to Redline it never came back. That rear end lasted about 110k, on a second used one now with FI and tried R-Purple this time. Its been about 10k now and its been smooth and quiet just like the redline, guess I have another option to choose from now. I'm sure some of the others are great too, just stay away from the factory Honda stuff.

I have put this stuff to unrelenting abuse and it has proven itself years ago.

 

Agree... Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant 75W-90

Other brands/fluids may be as good or even a little bit better, but you can buy this at just about any auto parts store, and will NOT go wrong using it.

I use Motul 75w90 and no issues.

 

Been using Redline 75w90 since my first diff change at 3k and it's still going strong 115k miles later. This includes the abuse of dozens of track days, autocrossing, canyon driving, and stuff.
