Red face diff fluid on diff.. pic and question

had diff fluid swapped at 30k

car at 40k

no abrasion on diff to show it touched anything ro anything touched it.seal in tact not leaking... drain and fill bolts fine.

seems like 2 bolts on bottom might be leakin... put instant gasket on it.. to see if thats it will check again daily..

usual?

unusual?

go to honda and get diff fluid changed and have them look at same time?

There is no correct Honda fluid for this diff, at least with the car division. The only "Honda" diff fluid that will work on this car is from their motorcycle division.

Or the "Honda" Marine SAE 90 GL-5 hypoid oil.

(I just have to say it.... )

Could that leaking oil come from the oil filled mounting dampers?
(The picture doesn't work.. just guessing)

That's always the question, if you don't ask you just simply don't know.

If it makes you feel any better, if they'd used the crap they put in most honda cars, your diff would be dead already.

Use 75 W 90 GL 5 gear oil.
I use Redline,a lot of people use Mobil 1.
