Diff oil weight recommendation? 2018

Chuck what if we take a sample of the fresh "old le1605" and send it out with "new le1605" and have it tested to see infact if it is still the same fluid and that they were only doing it for marketing? i still have a few bottles of the old white bottle version.

All that data is with the "old" LE-1605, not the current lubricant which is no longer marketed as meeting GL-5 standards. This change occurred recently. New bottles and all. If you get a test of the current lubricant please share it.
I'm still on the fence but have several more months before a change is scheduled.

Using the new-1605 is probably not a problem but we're all aware of the nagging second thoughts. Every tiny sound from the rear will be visualized as the differential coming apart.
To maintain my lifetime supply of differential lubricant I ordered two quarts of LE-9920 from Mag-Hytec. Lubrication Engineers only sells this in 2000 pound drums! Notes on Bob's website indicates Mag-Hytec bottles it in quart bottles and distributes it. This is a full synthetic 75W-40 GL-5.
Feeling all warm and fuzzy again.

Updated: No joy.
Sorry, but Blackstone Labs does not have the capability to determine if an oil meets GL-5 specs, nor can we predict if the new LE-1605 is suitable for S2000 diffs. We can certainly determine that after the oil's been used based on how the units are wearing, but to predict performance we'd need to perform ASTM wear and scoring tests. We don't have the necessary equipment for those tests.
