Default Difference In Exhaust - Catback

I'm looking to buy a catback exhaust for my AP2 but running into some conflicting information from the sites i'm visiting.
Some say good for 00+ and others have the same model exhausts but indicate for <03 or AP1 .

From the Cat back- is there a difference between the AP1 and AP2 exhaust systems??

Yes. The tips are round rather than oval and I believe that the tips are a little shorter on the AP1.

It could require modification to fit if the hanger locations are not the same on the AP1 exhaust that you are purchasing for your AP2

The main difference in the stock systems are the hangers that come off of the muffler closest to the tips. The ap1 has only one hanger coming off, so it uses an oval rubber piece, whereas the ap2 has two hangers coming off of the muffler so it uses a triangle rubber piece. But this usually isn't a problem, because most exhausts made for the ap1 can fit on the ap2s by using the ap1 oval rubber pieces. One thing you might want to check when putting an ap1 exhaust on an ap2 is clearance, b/c the bumpers differ. I'm pretty sure most exhausts out right now clear both, but i had a custom 80mm system made off of an ap1, and i put it on my ap2 and it hits the rear bumper....so it's something to think about as well.
