Different TPMS sensors and no light?
Earlier I installed some CR wheels on my 08. They had Star Specs and TPMS sensors already installed. The wheels came off an 08 CR. Only put about 10 miles on them during a quick drive, but noticed that the TPMS light did not come on. I figured once I got up to speed it would come on considering the sensors came off a different car. Are the sensors synced to a specific car? Or will the light remain off because they were already programed for an S2000? Also wondering if it might just take time for the car to realize I messed with something?
Those sensors in the CR wheels are programmed to that CR they came off of. The light will eventually come on. It could come on when you take your next drive, or it could be a couple weeks from now. I've heard both of those cases happen before so its not uncommon. The whole TPMS system is so inconsistent when it comes to stuff like this, IMO.
You will have to have the sensors programmed to the control unit eventually if you don't want the light to come on. In a perfect world, there could be a unit that remembers 8 sensors for two sets of wheels. Unfortunately, the unit only remembers 4 sensors at a time. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much! I did talk to someone today that told me the same thing. I'll just have to wait for the system to run its test, then it will throw the light.
For the different sensors to be programmed, will the tires have to come off, or can I just give the car to the dealer and they can do it without removing anything?

Tires or wheels won't have to come off. If you're planning to go to the dealer, they will simply hook up the HDS computer to the DLC and go around to each corner and use another tool to initialize the sensors to the TPMS unit. I think the dealer I work at charges about $50 to do this. Which I think is nuts cause I can get it done in less than 10 minutes.
Once the sensor ID's are registered, the tech will have to drive the car about 30 MPH for a few seconds and everything will be done.
Figured I'd post and say that the light finally came on this weekend. Couldn't believe how long it took to come on. Only drive the car sometimes on the weekends, and since I made this thread, I put about 100 miles on the car. My drives were on average only about 15-20 minutes long. Off to the dealer to get them programmed.
