Differential Dead -- HondaCare denies coverage
It's unlikely they will request the part to be returned, but with high $$$ repairs they may call it back. The dealer has to keep the part for the same amount of time with a regular warranty repair or a HC repair.

I saw this link in the electronics forum and had to see what it was about. I think another thing that you need to consider (as does anyone you need to get advice from) is that you are in Louisiana. I think the legal system over there is different from the rest of the country, originating from the French system, instead of the English system.
I will ask my mother about this (she is a lawyer for Honda involved in warranty and lemon law practices). If she cannot give me a specific answer (as she is employed BY Honda), she can give me the channels through which you should pursue your appeal. At least then you will have a cut and dry answer...

here in Louisiana we do fall under Napoleonic Code vs the English legal basis everywhere else in the US.
Despite being surrounded by Anglo-Saxon Common Law territories, Louisiana's civil code has kept its Roman roots and some of its aspects feature influences by the Napoleonic Code, but is based more on Roman and Spanish civil traditions. As a result, the bar exam and legal standards of practice in Louisiana are significantly different from other states, and reciprocity for lawyers from other states is not available.
still, Chris is right -- i have already won my appeal, have the new differential installed, and didn't pay a penny for it.

i would still be interested in hearing what she finds... PM me it if you can't post it public. just note the level of privacy in your PM and i'll be as discreet as required.
