Differential differences

Default Differential differences

can anybody tell from an ap1 differential from a ap2 by just looking at it? any marks? looking to buy one from a junkyard. calming its a ap2 and I never trust these guys.

the easiest way is to look at the bolt holes on the input flange. ap1 uses a 6mm bolt, ap2 diff has 8mm bolt

wait i thought the ap1 was a 8mm and the ap2 was a 10 mm. But yes, the ap drive shaft bolts are 2mm larger than the ones on the ap1 diff.

you may be correct on that.. I dont have any extra bolts to measure

ap1 bolts use a 6mm allen, ap2 use an 8mm allen key.
