Is it possible to remove the engine girdle while the motor is in the car?
Long story short, I was reinstalling my oil pan, a bit of silicon got on the tip of the of the bolt and cracked the other end of the hole in the girdle. I don't want to just put silicon in the hole hoping it will seal. I want to take off the girdle so I can have it welded. Is this possible with the engine still in the car? I hope it makes sense.
It will not be easy, at all. pull trans, clutch and flywheel, timing cover, motor mounts, suspend engine from above with a sling, etc...
Can you explain exactly which hole is broken? Maybe it wont matter.
