Theres no reason they should have charged you for 7 quarts.

They charged me for 5 but that is still too much.I'm not so worried about what they charged me for .I am more concerned about what it is that they put in my car.

08200-9001 is automatic transmission fluid
08200-9002 is dual pump oil
Neither belongs in an S2000.

It's not unsual dealers don't have a part number for the fluid they use, so they use a proxy number and adjust the number of quarts to get the total cost you owe.

POM is Peace of Mind. The other letters pretty much sum up what you said on one sentance.

The invoice i have says under the heading FP-Number: 08798-9016...... under the description heading : Fluid, MT 08200. Do these #s mean anything to you. Is this the right stuff for the trans?

08798-9016 is manual transmission fluid, the right stuff for the tranny (1.6 quarts)

08200 could be a number representing generic differential fluid. It's hard to say.

Since Honda USA does not carry the correct fluid for the diff and the fact that they what they gave you came from a bulk container means you got the wrong fluid. The only bulk diff fluid they carry is the VTM-4 fluid, something that ALL Honda dealers have been warned NOT to use. Only Honda Canada has made a concession to this fact by telling the dealers here to use a gear oil from their motorcycle division. Honda USA has not implemented this procedure to my knowledge. The more informed dealer service depts. will get the diff fluid from outside their own system and it will most likely be by the bottle and not bulk.
