Differential Fluid Change
what happens when u put a whole quart? dumb me, was just putting away until i notice the whole quart was pretty much empty. puddymod said something will break if i overflow it. i used 75w140 amsoil. it is hard to tell if it is dripping out because it is so thick!
what can i do?
what can i do?
I have done multiple diff fluid changes but I usually used 75w90. And it is easy to tell when the fluid drips out and of course I always use 4 jack stands to keep it level. But puddymod told me to use 75w110. it is way thicker. It makes it hard to tell if it is trickling out or what not because of it viscosity.
how so, they both have the same starting viscosity, or is that another old wives tale?
and to INDYMAC, im surprised you would say such a thing, its threads like this that were born out of people trying to avoiding quik lube type places
Ill take it as a joke

It was no joke, if someone who does their own differential service has no idea whether he put too much fluid in after he is done. Are you saying he should just keep driving his car, in spite of his incompetence?
I'd take my chances with a quick lube servicing my equipment over someone who can't even get his car jacked up properly to get the correct amount of fluid in the equipment. I realize that you and probably others here would choose differently and I respect your opinions.
