Differential Fluid Change

For somebody that doesn't have a torque wrench (me) and that wants to do this tomorrow (because its one of my few days off), is it imperative that I tighten the drain plug to exactly 33 ft lbs? or can I get away with a very firm amount of torque applied?

Trying to do my rear diff oil change,
Reading this forum, looks the the fill bolt is 23mm and drain is 24mm,
I bought a 23mm end wrench, doesn't fit??
I have 2004 ap2, is that why?
And why does my fill bolt look different from the original post's fill bolt?
I even think the drain bolt is not 24mm, more like 23 or 22mm,
Please let me know, thanks in advance

ok i think i figued it out, the ****ers that had the car b4 me reversed the too bolts, idiot!
Alright, so I just finished it up. After torqueing the fill bolt down, the yellow markers didn't match up again....
I am assuming that this isn't really an issue as long as it doesn't leak. I suspect it is far more important when dealing with the drain.
Anyway....
I guess this was the first time my dif fluid was changed.... I had at least 1/8 inch of metal shavings caked onto the plug, and the fluid when drained was BLACK and shimmering with metal shavings. I definitely HEAR the difference.
Good diy
Nothing like a little fresh Mobil 1 75W90....all over my shirt.....

after i torque the bolts i use a paint pen and make a similar mark. i do it for periodic inspections to make sure the bolts stayed put and didn't back out over time. if they moved i re-torque 'em...
