Differential Oil
Hi,
I have read on this site and others, and cannot get a good feel.
I need to change the differential oil, and tomorrow's the day.
I have used Mobil 1 75w-90 for years, but I cannot find that anywhere.
I have some Swepco 210 (80w-140) for my race car, but no other potentially suitable oil.
I live near Seattle; I don't drive the S2000 when it's real cold, but I will drive it frequently when it's 45 degrees (Fahrenheit) out.
What differential, generally available at a typical NAPA-type store, is suitable for an AP2 S2000, entirely stock, used as a daily driver and autocross car? And please, if possible, explain why you think what you're recommending is appropriate.
Thanks!
Mark

That is the best 75W-90 synthetic gear oil I've tried and I plan to stick with it. My second choice would be the German made synthetic Castrol SAF fluid which is also available in 75W-90 but harder to find in North America. The local BMW dealer charges $162 for 1.5 litres in 75W-140.
