Twice I typed out a response about using Ravenol in my diff, and both times what I typed isn't whats showing up in my post above. Not sure if its my app rendering my post badly, or if it actually posted i to forum badly.

If my post above doesn't make, its not me. At least, not this time.

Lets try again, this time without quoting.

I've always use the same Amsoil 110.

Except last time I changed diff fluid I used Ravenol left over from when I had an Audi.

GL5, 75W-90, semisynthetic

ravenol gl5

That link says full synthetic, but my bottle says semi. Not sure if they improved it, or if they decided its ok to call it full now.

Lubrication Engineers -- Gear Oil Techni Tips 79.

LE's 9920 Synolec Gear Oil (75-140) GL5 was a popular boutique GL5 differential oil for the S2000 up until a couple of years ago when they stopped packaging it in less than "pail" containers. I still have a couple quarts in reserve.

Car Analogy, your posts worked fine, this time.

I noticed that early morning and late night posts (PST) sometimes have issues with quotes and uploading photos. It could be that the host is doing maintenance, and this interferes with some of the functions.

@Jub Please scan and post your Blackstone Labs differential oil test results. Never seen one for the differential so I'm very curious.

I'm still running the Lubrication Engineers 1650 (SKU 1650) in my '04. They seem to have changed the label and it now only reads ISO 220, but it continues to be listed on the website as an SAE 110 gear oil. My bottle reads "ISO 222 / SAE 110 AGMA 5EP. Its labeled as Duolec Vari-Purpose. For the quart size, I've just ordered directly from the Lubrication Engineers website. They are located in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Third, fourth, fifth or maybe even sixth hand - and from the reliable Internet, no less - I understood that there was some change in the standards for automotive hypoid fluids - for all I know, maybe because of mileage requirements for new cars. Supposedly Lubrication Engineers did not change their formula and lost the opportunity to market as an automotive differential fluid. I still use it because I like the SAE 110 rating versus the now supposedly watered down SAE 75-90 rating. My car has about 35,000 miles with about 30 track days and I have had no differential issues.

The LE tech sheet linked by Chuck in post #24 could be interesting if just someone could explain it to me.

OK, and I now found this thread that addresses the subject. LE 1605 SAE 110 - Differential Fluid Group Buy - S2KI Honda S2000 Forums
