Differential Oil Help
I was using LE1605 (sixteen zero five) not 1650. I recall 1605 lost its GL5 rating circa 2016 or 2017 and LE1620 was it's replacement but not available in quarts at least then. The 1620 I have was decanted from bulk by a third party and sold in quart bottles. I also recall a conversation (or possibly a dream
) with Lubrication Engineers that 1605 really didn't lose certification but that LE made so little of it they didn't renew the certification. Or something...
Back to basics: Use GL5 hypoid gear oil. Pick whatever gives you that warm fizzy feeling even if it's Amsoil.
