Default Differential swap

Hello !!

I'm planning to put a differential from MY00 AP1 (with 4.56 gears) into my MY06 AP1 (EURO VERSION)

... and I have a question: Will this fit ??

I know there is a deference between AP1 and AP2 ... but I got AP1 with DBW&VSA (if this does matters in this case)

Thank You for any replies.

PS. Sorry for my english

the input shaft on the ap1 will be smaller than the holes on the driveshaft of your 06. You can remove the input shaft, but need to retorque it

Thanks Soul Coughing !!

So, all I need to do is swap input flanges to make it fit ?? I think my MY06 input flanges will fit to my "new" MY00 dif.

PS. Did I need to open the dif's to swap this thing ?? I hope not.

Don't remove the input flange on the diff, as it will require replacement of the one-time use pinion spacer. Also, there's no specific value for final torque on the flange nut. Instead, it is to be tightened enough to achieve between 7.8 and 12.1 lbs.in of turning force, after going through 2 steps of 14 and 94 lbs.ft. The ideal thing would be to get an AP1 transmission output flange, which doesn't require fancy tightening, and an AP1 propeller shaft to match the diff. I am sure Puddy could give more insight into this....

I have posted up a DIY on how to swap out the input flange try to do a search. It is not hard to do if you have the right tools and a good feel for what you are doing. It is very easy to mess up so have someone that knows what they are doing perform the task.

This information is right too but, you can get away with doing the swap if you have the skills and the luck
