will an ap2 Differential fit an ap1 ?

I blew my diff. last night and was wondering if a ap2 diff(04-08), would fit an ap1 (00-03) ... and if there were any benefits to the change or should i just use an ap1

I have an AP2 diff with 4.57 gears in my AP1. The diffs are easily interchangeable. The AP2 diff is slightly beefier than the AP1, but if you're not doing a lot of drag launches, either will suffice.

In order to put an AP2 diff into an AP1, you will need to swap the input flange on the diff so that it mates to your AP1 driveshaft properly. It's pretty easy.
