Default diffrent tires on rear

okay well i one of my rear tires took a crap.. long story short i have a potenza re750 245/40/17 as one rear.. and a toyo t1r 245/40/17 as another..
is this going to hurt my differential?? if i floor it doing like 60mph is 6th gear (bogging) the car pulls HARD to one side.. i know i need to get the same tire brand etc back there, but its going to be 2 more days before i can get 2 more toyo's for the rear.. so again.. am i going to see some problems? i have to drive 20 miles to work mon and tues and i can only get the tires on wed.... will i be okay?

thanks

Check for unequal tire pressure 1st. Is the treadwear even on both rear tires, or is one worn worse than the other?

First make sure that the tires pressures are correct on all tires.

Both these tires have the same static overall diameter, however, one may not be as firm as the other at the same pressure. That is, one may sit more squat, have more contact patch than the other. This will play havoc the actual diameter. One may actually be "flatter" than the other and this will produce the effect you've felt. Whether or not it will have an adverse affect on the diff will depend on just how different the dynamic overall diameters are.

Measure them both ground to top of tire and adjust tire preasures to get them as equal as possible.

yes you'll tear up the diff using odd sized tires. its in the owners manual that you can't use the spare on the rear because of this.

if I were you, i'd put both fronts on the rear, put the odd sized tires on the front, and drive carefully since your handling will be out of whack.

Good idea 245/40/17 in the front, and you're ready for drift contests.

no no no i have a potenza 245/40/17 on one rear, and a toyo 245/40/17 on the other side... so its not odd sized tires.. just diffrent brands.. im just wondering if this will be okay until i can get 2 new toyo's in.

oh yeah then thats fine. tire manufacturers and treads don't matter, as long as the circumference of the tires is the same on the rear, thats all that matters.

what will tear up the diff is if the tires were of different circumference. like if one of the tires was a 225/50/r16, that would be a big no no.
