There are fuel injector cleaning kits out there. I have not used one but I have been looking about getting one. I think you attatch it to the fuel rail and run the engine till the canister is empty. If this doesn't work then you will have to send the injectors off to get them cleaned.

One of the better gas adder cleaners is BG44K....it's kinda hard to find and approx $23 a can.

Redline SL1 is also good.

If injectors are really dirty ( poor gas?)...use 2 cans of either.

best way is to just take them off and send them out to be cleaned, much more worth it and you dont have to worry about putting weird chems into the combustion chamber.

cool !, I think they are the best out there, I believe they give you a printout of the injector performance which is reassuring to know.

Would a symptom relating to dirty injectors be a slight rough idle? My CEL light came on several months ago and the mechanic read the typical P1399 and misfire across all four cylinders. After changing the plugs and coils the codes were still showing up and the slight shudder was still noticable. It was more like a slight hiccup as it idled. RPM maintained around 900. Dirty injectors or something else?

this is pretty much exactly what my engine was doing. Yes it can be a symptom of dirt injectors. send those babies off to be cleaned but do a compression tets first just to rule out other stuff ! good luck !

Is exactly right. Both are excellent products. Despite the other poster's slam, this is the preferred way to clean.

Why? Because varnish and carbon (not dirt unless you are running without an air filter) build up in all engines over time. Spend a second in any shop and look at a teardown head. Pretty bad, and over-rich race engines are the worst.

Running one of these products occasionally, and decent!!! gas all the time, go a long way to avoiding clogged injectors and maintaining a clean head. Pulling the injector did nothing for the intake valves.

havin them cleaned ultrasonically is more effective. But its not required in all instinces. Do what suits the application best.
