Does anybody know where i can find a diy engine removal thread. I cant seem to find it

It's like any other car. Unplug everything. Unmount. Remove.

I played it by ear when I removed mine.

Some tips (dunno if these are helpful or the right way, but they are things I did)

- Remove tranny first.
- Remove header for better clearance.
- yea thats all.

Damn well how about an oil pump install? haha. I need to get this done this weekend but im not quiet sure what to take apart to get enough slack in the chain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

and it turned out that i never needed to pull the motor so il save that project for another day lol

Oil pump: you will need to pull the oil pan, and front timing cover.

The manual requires cylinder head removal to pull the timing cover, but you dont need to. you can slip the cover out from underneath the head.

Silicone removal and re-application will be a bit of a challenge since you will be working upside down on the head, but it can be done. I did mine many years ago due to a part number change.

This is a job for only well qualified persons.

This is also a very good time to do oil jet bolts while you are in there. The overlapping labor makes it worth it. And with the oil pump out, the number one oil jet bolt will be super easy.

I saw the thread for the banjo bolts and from what everyone was saying about
the vin numbers i think i already have the newer bolts. thanks Billman Im thinking of hiring someone at this point i definitely feel like im in over my head.
