Thumbs up DIY: soft top adjustment?

Hey guys im getting some nasty wind noise coming from the lower side driver window edge and from the top of the rear window.
already took the car to the dealer!! they said they adjusted the latches, and there was no noise . i don't feel like going back and argue with them (beasides is quite far from home)
already used the honda grease (whatever its called) and nothing....

im sure that the adjustment knob on the rear lower side of the roof mechanism needs to be adjusted.. but how?? does the top need to be open?, close? turn knob clockwise? counter clockwise? anymody done this? any instructions?
thanks so much for your help

There is no rear adjustment knob that adjusts anything with the top frame.

You've got either a bent top frame, worn latches or strikers, or the side widow regulator is out of adjustment.

The window has a camber adjuster and stops for raised height adjustment.

I believe this hexagon shaped black rubber is the soft top stopper and it's adjustable with a crowfoot wrench. It adjusts - up and down - to allow how far the soft top sits in the down position. You often see pictures of S2k with the soft top down but ever notice how high the soft top sits in the down position? This adjustment will allow the soft top to sit lower. Some people that use the tonneau cover complain the cover flaps around after driving have to adjust this stopper so the top will rest lower.

BTW, I don't believe this stopper has anything to do with your wind noise.

Your wind noise is caused by worn latches. Take a look at the part that the hook catches onto at the latch on the whindseild cowl. It most likley got a worn spot or grove where the hook engages. A temporary fix is to slide some rumbber tubing over the hook untill you replace the latch.

another temp fix would be switching the strikers from left to right, right to left. It made a big difference in my car.

That's a stop for the roof in the down position. It's not adjusting anything on the top frame. Also not going to help you windnoise with the top up. You'll never have to mess with unless you have to replace a top motor.
