Adjusted valves on my 02' today. Had never adjusted valves before. It took about 2 1/2 hours from set up to clean up, working slowly and meticulously. The gauges I had were .008, .010, & .012. Didn't have the increments in between in the bent gauges I picked up from harbor freight. In anticipation, I watched some videos and came across a German dude doing valves on an S2k. Picked up a trick that seems to have worked fantastically. Stuck the larger size Guage in and tightened the adjuster until it touched. Then turned it ever so slightly more (maybe 3 minutes worth) and torqued the nut with the feeler Guage still in there. Took a try two to get the tightening pressure figured out, but from then on it set the clearance perfect every time. At least, as perfect as I can figure since I have no experience basis for how it should feel other than reading posts. Either way, they're all the same as each other. Could do each valve in a matter of about 30 seconds or so once I got the hang of it. The worst part was working around the heat shield. That method may be a tip to help others. My engine is happier now!

This procedure applies to ap2s with DBW correct? They should have the same timing marks? Thanks planning to do this very soon!

Yes, it applies except that you will only find 1 TDC sensor, not 2.

I just did VA adjustment on '08. It sounded rough before but it is much smoother after done it. Definitely recommended for all years of s2000 including CR.
