my sound is more of a click on, click off from the front/left of the engine bay.

mine clicks on for 1 second and clicks off immediately...

does that sound normal to be for such a short duration?

someone suggested the air pump should be on for about 30 seconds and that i may have an air pump problem.

what damage might this problem cause? Its been like this for over 3 years...is it an easy fix?

I believe the air pump is just for cold-start emissions, shouldnt affect the way the car runs, I would think. If you're not getting a CEL, I honestly wouldnt even worry about it.

edit: and yeah, that doesn't sound right. Mine used to come on for a good 30 seconds before it shut off. It never came on for just 1 second and then right back off. Now my air pump doesnt do anything at all though with the EMS.

 

The air pump can run for 2-30 seconds, depending on conditions.

If you don't have a CEL, it's all good.
