Do I need to replace gasket during rebored TB change?

I just received my rebored throttle body from Proflow and want to get it installed A.S.A.P. However, it'll take 3 or 4 days for the Honda parts department to get me a TB gasket.

Can anyone tell me if I can keep the current one on, or is it important to replace it with a new one? Also, if I decide to use a new one, do I need to use some kind of gasket sealer compound?

Last question...is there a link to any helpful info or pics of the TB install. I didn't see any in S2Ki's FAQs.

Thanks!

If your old gasket was not outright torn during tb removal, you can reuse it. I did replace mine, but the condition of the old one seemed essentially mint in the year old or less S2K. No gasket sealing compound needed and probably shouldn't be used anyway. Hth.

Is the tb your own or can you drive your car? Mingster is coming to my place tomorrow for fpr install. Drop by and we'll put your tb in if you can drive it!

Al. Thanks for your advice. I'll probably try the TB changeover using the old gasket. However, I'll also order a new one in case this one starts leaking later.

I'll certainly consider taking up your offer of coming down to see you and Richard tomorrow. I'll let you know if I can make it. (There are a few things I have to do locally first.) Thanks for the offer.

I recently installed my bored PF throttle body with the original gasket. My car is only a couple months old and the original gasket seemed to be in excellent shape. I don't seem to have any problems with the install.

Prolene,
Where do you live, maybe I'll stop by? What time is Richard coming over?
Wanna switch my headlight housings???? :

Al. Please PM or email your address, and the time Richard is coming over. (Yet another mini meet?) I'll let you know for sure if I'll be able to make it down there. Thanks.

1Y2KS2K,

here's the thread, with pictures, from my install:

Jim of Proflow did my install, and he reused the stock gasket.

Well, 1Y2KS2K is on his way home (I think) after installing his ProFlowed TB. Seems to be working well.

Mingster installed his FPR sent from Pinky. So far so good.
