Do Single Muffler Exhaust Systems Make More Power?
According to Spugen's website...their N1 style single muffler cat back exhaust system has a gain of 8.7 HP (according to a dyno chart). This is about 3 HP more than their dual muffler setup. So what's the consensus here...? Are people quite happy with their single muffler setups due to a bigger horsepower gain, or is it all BS and both exhausts should make around the same HP gains....?
Singles flow much more freely. They have one less muffler and less bends in the system. Bends and mufflers reduce flow. The reason why most singles are louder is because they flow better. I could tell immediately after installing my T1R exhaust that it flowed better by putting my hand in front of the tail pipe. The air comes out and pulsates on my hand with force.

Ok...proven point...the N1 single exhausts are definately loud. I had an Apexi N1 on my Type R and you could hear me coming from like a 1/2 mile away. So is there any company that makes a decent sounding, not brutally loud single exhaust for the S2K...?

Personally, if I were buying an exhaust for sound alone, that's the exhaust I'd go for. Since I'm buying mine for performance and weight savings only, I'm going with the Amuse R1000. I haven't received it yet, but from what I hear, it's ear-splitting loud. However, 12+whp gains and 55 lbs in weight loss should be noticeable.
the f20c has one exhaust manifold, therefore a true dual system is not necessary. the s2000 came with a dual exhaust from the factory due to cosmetic reasons, that is all...it's heavy too.
