You may have heard about someone who mixed the Mugen and Spoon cooling parts -- and did throw a check light. I forget the details, however, but I seem to recall someone posting to that effect. Had something to do with the thermostat and thermofan switch triggering at difference thresholds.

I believe the fan switches come on at the same time so what could go wrong mixing and matching thermo stats with fan switches?

It's not worth tracking this down, but I do seem remember -- and my memory of this is pretty fuzzy -- that there was some reason why the ECU would find mixing the parts problematic. I forget the reason, and I don't quite get it either, but there was *some* rationale behind it. I'm sure better minds than my own could come up with a more compelling explanation...

I had that issue with mixed parts. After taking it in for an OBD-II scan, came up with radiator cap. Switched from spoon to stock and haven't had CEL in months. (used to come on bi-weekly). Maybe I just got a bum rad cap from spoon.

have not had any CEL's, but, i have noticed at stoplights my heater starts blowing cold air. if i run it up to about 2k, it starts blowing hot again, or, once the light turns and i start moving it blows hot. not sure if there is something else that needs to be adjusted or not.

just put on spoon radiator cap and mugen thermostat/switch last week, cold air with 30 degree weather and top down makes the fingers get cold...

Keith, are you still going to Curry's this afternoon? If so, I'm planning on joining you and Pete.
