Default Does Not Turn Over

This past weekend while driving my car during a leisure drive uptown, i notice my car start to idle rough. Before I could pull over to check it out my cars dies on me. I try to restart it but to my luck it wont turn over. It was hard to hear anything in the engine with my exhaust. I plan on breaking it apart this weekend but wanted to post on here to see if anyone can help.

What part of wont turn over could mean outta gas???

Check your battery connection. Poor connection could allow your lights to work and not turn the starter over..

So I started to troubleshoot it today. The first thing I checked was the spark plugs. Cylinder 1 was good but as I started to take the coilpack out of 2 I noticed it was kind of tough. After struggling for a few I finally get it out. Cylinder 2 coilpack was melted, from what I couldnt tell you. The rest were fine. My spark plugs are only couple months old. Granted ive heard some mixed reviews about the Iridums, there is nothing I could figure that would cause this. Any insight would be appreciated.

Probably from a loose spark plug not torqued to updated spec.

When they work loose, the fuel / air mix escapes and ignites up the spark plug well, melting the plug and the coil pack.

Check the threads of the plug to make sure you didn't damage the cylinder head.
