Default Does our engine have a lot of noise?

Hey,
I was wondering if our engines are noisey in general.
My S has only 4k miles on it, and it makes weird noises at idle right after cold start.
Sounds like a squealing(not loud), or it could be described as a light metal-grinding noise.
And this noise goes away after it's warmed up.
I don't recall the K20 s having this kinda sound when I had my RSX-S.
This is my second Honda, so I just wanted to hear some opinions from you Honda experts.

Thanks

Dan

I remember the first months of my ownership... I was thinking similarly -- "whats that noise? was it there before?"

Yes, our engines are noisy.
Remember, less insulation + more revolutions -> countless weird, different noises.

You'll be okay, don't worry about it.

Okay, I feel a lot better now.
Man, those noises that weren't there when I first got the car, drove me nuts recently.
Thanks again, guys.

Lots of wonderful noises. Try to get familiar with all of them, so you'll recognize if something is wrong on down the road. The noises are much louder with top up than down. Different atmospheric pressures will attenuate your perception of the noises as well. That's why your car will sound different from day to day, even with gear whine. After your first oil change, your engine will sound different too. Enjoy your new S2000!

Yeah, I guess I'll get used to it.
I'm starting to like it already.
Oh, btw, Lotus Exige S sounded like crap in idle, too.
