Does Synthetic oil reduce oil consumption?

Some data to be wary of: Most people switch to synthetic after or during the break-in period, where you will naturally consume more oil. As the break-in period goes away, so does most oil consumption (usually).
Most synthetic oils have a higher flashpoint and will naturally burn less in the engine. How much so can only be accurately determined on a broken-in motor and prefereably the same motor (though across different motors/samples).
Just a thought, anyone who votes should keep that in mind. I'll refrain from voting since I went to synthetic at 3k (before the motor was fully broken in).
I have very little oil consumption now (6500 miles), though I have nothing to compare it to.
