Does your oil turn noticeably darker?
Not sure if it's just my imagination, but it seems that the oil on the dipstick is getting darker. I seem to recal the oil looking just a shade lighter?
Anyone experience this?

Mine looks like honey for say about 2000 miles then between 2000 and 3000 it gets dark. I try to change my oil at least every 2500 miles. Especially if I rev like a mad man.

Perhaps a better question is, how bad is it to be running with "dirty" oil? I was planning on following the Normal maintenance schedule, but seeing the dark color, it's making me reconsider.

"dirty" looking oil is not really bad. oil is supposed to get dirty so the contaminents can get drained out at the next oil changed. if oil never got dirty, then all the contaminents are still residing inside your engine. other than lubrication, oil has to clean out the engine as well. hope that made sense.

Agreed. Using Mobil 1 and my driving habits, oil analysis looks like 8k miles is a sweet spot for maintaining protection and extended life. Oil is *supposed* to get dirty and the filter is *supposed* to plug. You just need to determine when too much is too much. Go with scientific evidence, not on a guess such as "my oil looks dirty"...

7500 miles is to long for me. The car rev's higher than an average engine. The oil getting dirty is suppose to happen. But that dirty oil is then in your oil and going thru your engine. If I waited til 7500 my oil would be black. If you rev to 9000 rpm on a regular basis then just change out the oil every 3000 miles!
