Don't add "Zero" freeplay. You need at least an 1/8" for the make-up valve to open or you'll eventually fry the clutch.

I've got about 1mm true freeplay plus what ever freeplay is in the CMC piston. As I understand that is alright?

I've jus taken it for a test drive but I still grinded 2nd once when cold. This could be due to me getung used to the clutch point changing? I'll try it for a week and then report back.

One thing i did notice which has been happening the whole time is that when i am at a standstill, push the clutch in the is a little clunk when i try and select any gear. Could this be that that the slave cylinder is not pushing the selector fork quick enough?

Just so everybody knows i have replaced the clutch kit, flywheel, CMC, fluid so far. The only things that haven't been replaced are trans oil (due for replacement in Nov) and the slave cylinder.

So your saying you have trouble getting into second and sometimes sixth? You sure you haven't been skipping gears on the way up the box?

If it's a downshift you probablly have a bad synchronizer from a misshift. Nothing you can do about it. One gear grinding is a giveaway. If they all where notchy, I would say the clutch.

DO NOT skip gears. The synchros on this car are fragile.

You don't want to be skipping gears on the way up the box. There have been quite a few people having trouble getting into some gears due to this. Do a search on this subject and you'll find plenty of info.

Ok thanks for the advise. Thinking about it I dont usually skip going up the box, mostly on the way down.

I've been for a few more test drives with the CMC rod adjustment and it feels better so far, could be placebo at the moment though so i will keep an eye out during the week

Skipping gears on the way down is ok as long as you're not at a huge rpm difference. You usually coast until the rpm's are low anyway.
