Thumbs up Drilled OEM Rotors?

Has anyone here ever had their stock rotors drilled?
If so, is there any particular pattern that would work best?

I would like to get a set of drilled rotors, but if I can get the same performance out of drilled OEM, it would save me quite a bit of $$

I just use my cordless power drill and put as many holes as I can in the rotor. I figure that less material for the pads on actually clamp onto is better like my APC guide to speed tells me.

I took a 1/2" drill metal drilling bit and went at it. I'd say I shaved off about 50% of the rotors original weight. Now that's some good light stuff.

I was only using the nails and hammer to mark where to drill and so it dips the metal in making it easier to drill. That's how it came out looking so good. I even went ahead and made a air actuated piston that goes into the holes in the rotors. Instantly locks up those tires.

They are curved to eliminate turbulence.....

MY FRIEND DID THIS TO HIS 97 EX.

HIS DAD OWNS A MACHINE SHOP WITH ALL SORTS OF CRAZY MACHINES. WELL HE HAD 1 CROSS DRILLED AND SLOTTED ROTOR HIS FRIEND LENT HIM AND HE DREW IT UP ON A COMPUTER PROGRAM TO THE EXACT DIMENSIONS. WELL HE SET THE ROTOR ON THIS MACHINE AND THE DRILL STARTED MOVING BY ITSELF AND DID THE EXACT SAME HOLES AND SLOTS, ALL HE DID WAS CHANGE THE BIT WHEN THE MACHINE WENT FROM SLOTS TO HOLES. IT WAS PRETTY AMAZING TO WATCH. ANYWAYS THIS WAS LIKE A YEAR AND A HALF AGO AND THEY NOTHING HAS HAPPENED TO THEM

sorry about the caps guys... i completely forgot and i already typed the whole thing and dont wanna retype it

I drilled my OEM rotors as well, and created cooling slots with my Dremel. I also painted them red for that cool, hip look. I painted the rotor, pads, and calipers.

Dude, I hope you used that "no slip" paint with the grit mixed into it. Otherwise your painted rotors are going to be slippery.
