It is finally warming up here, and since it was april the 1st i took the stook out for a spin.

The driver window:
1: Only rolls down an inch and stops when i put the top down.

2: Doesn't auto roll down when i press the button.

I spent about 20 mins searching the archives on this, nothing really usefull.

What causes this?

I don't think it is worth taking it to the dealer for this unless it gets worse. After all, i can roll down the windows myself.

Mine was diagnosed as a faulty "master switch". They replaced it, and the auto-down feature worked -- once or twice. It's now malfunctioning again, and I'm just about to decide to live with it - or buy a Helm's manual so I can do the work myself. *sigh*

If memory serves correctly, this exact problem was solved by replacing the motor in someone else's car. I know it's a pain, but the dealer should repair this.

Glad I'm not the only one having this problem. Mine started this past Friday. Going to take mine to the dealer tomorrow if I have time.

Had the same problem. They replaced the microswitch on the motor, then replaced the whole motor. Get it done, not worth having the window fail while down.

Guys, had the same problem on my Prelude. Replaced the door switch assembly twice but the problem kept coming back. Finally I took it to a different dealer that actually knew something and they recalled a TSB the was issued for this problem on the Prelude.

The problem IS the motor NOT the switch (assuming the same fault condition as the the Prelude).

Have the dealer replace the power window motor, that should do the trick.

I also had the same problem last year and they replaced the entire motor assembly. I think the dealership said it is the window pulsing module that is located in the motor assembly that actually goes bad.
