ok XViper, where did you get your autoloc? I tried a quick search and nothing relevant jumped out. I like the auto up idea too!

thanks.
I got mine from another forum member "EMC2".

But you can try them directly:

I believe it's the "One Touch Express Window Control Unit", Model #WC 1000.

Can anyone advise what technically could happen to your S if not fixed? I've had this for the last three years and it doesn't seem bother me to much I just have to hit the window button once more and bamn down it goes.

As long as the window falls away from the top a few inches, it won't hurt anything. You just don't want the window to be in the full up position when the top is trying to open or close. The window could interfere with the folding action of the top. Other than this, it's just an inconvenience.

Forgot to mention one thing since we're on the subject, something is also wrong with my automatic window down switch. It works when it wants to, doesn't bother me but I just thought I mention it. Does anyone know if the reset thingy help with that too? My window rolls down if I hold the button but if I engage it onto the auto down it won't do a thing but stop where it's at once I let go of the button, it doesn't bother me cuz I just don't click it to the auto down anymore anyhow. Figure I wait 'til Spring comes around to try that reset thing seeing that my S is on jackstand in the garage for winter.

The "auto-down" is the same function whether it's because of the top working or if you hit the button. If it doesn't work for one, it won't work for the other.

Wow....this is great to know! My driver's side auto-down wasn't working and I had the dealer look at it. They told me it was "probably" the regulator, which would be about $360 to replace.

I decided it was just an inconvenience and wouldn't spend the bucks. Then, for seemingly no reason, it started working again. I must have inadvertently reset the window.

Has worked great for at least 6 months!

It can be temperamental that way. I hope you have no more troubles with it. For most, it comes back.
