Default Driveshaft spacing between differential?

Hello,

I'm trying to install my driveshaft. I can't make the groove on the propeller shaft to go inside the hole of the differential. So I made some measurements. The bigger circle on the propeller shaft is 2.364" and the smaller circle is 2.174". The hole on the differential is 2.200" Is the bigger circle (2.364") suppose to go in the differential hole (2.200")? I'm able to insert the smaller hole (2.174")
of the shaft into the differential hole. Is this how is suppose to be? See the last picture there is a space between the differential and the shaft. Are they supoose to touch?

I was thinking I will need to get the bigger circle (2.364) machined to it'll fit the differential hole?

Can somebody confirm the spacing between the differential and propeller shaft?
