Use Dynamat Extreme -- it's much lighter than the older Dynamat .... At least it stops the droning of the trunk panels that were caused by my trunk mounted subwoofer. Seems like it would be worth a try for dampening the resonance emanating from the muffler. But hey, get yourself a proper muffler!
