ECU immobilizer help...
....I'm thinking of purchasing an extra ECU to "play" around with. However, a service mechanic at my Honda dealership pointed out the fact to me that the ECU I buy will not be coded for my keys.
Does anyone know how to cut out the immobilzer function at the ECU?
On another project, on my Prelude, I had converted the ignition to be a keyless ignition. The ignition was set to "always on" and I had three ghost switches on the car. One switch controlled the fuel pump. The other switch controlled the starter toggle switch, and the third switch was the toggle starter (think push button start, but NASCAR style). I was thinking of doing this for the S2000 as well, and would require for me to have to bypass the ECU immobilizer.
How does Spoon and Mugen do it, anyone know?

Sorry man, but Spoon and Mugen doesn't do it. Reason being is there is no such thing as the immobilizer in JDM spec cars (in fact I think they don't have it in Oz either). It is a North America feature not sure about Europe.
Oh! The ECU's used by Mugen and Spoon must then be Japanese spec and then just reprogrammed for different fuel maps and VTEC engagement points....
...but then why does Spoon want a core replacement from their customers?
Any other work around you guys know of?

I was hoping that UL or 1RandyC would chime in on this if they saw it.
The way it stands is that I may forget about the extra ECU to play around with. If I want to lean out the fuel a bit, I may have to turn to a VAFC or just bite the bullet and get my ass whooped after purchasing a Mugen ECU.
As far as turning the car into a keyless ignition, I may have to cut open a key to get the transponder out and just stick it right onto the receiver that is hidden in the steering column.
