Default ECU question

I'm running a turbo set up in my car and when I bought the kit it came with Greddy piggy-back system for the ECU. I'm having some problems with tuning (well doesn't seem like I can find anyone who can tune this correctly). I'm considering to go with a SMU. I've heard people using the AEM SMU system. Is that the best one to use out there? How much of a improvement should I be looking at if I which to a SMU? Where do people get their cars tuned (in East Coast area)?

Do you mean AEM EMS? If you can't find anyone to tune a piggyback system like the emanage what are the chances they will be able to the EMS standalone?

If you do get the EMS call them and ask them for certified EMS trained tuners in your area. Its a system that work well when the person tuning know how use it. THere are little kinks still in the system. IE when you pull the map from the ECU it will switch maps so you have to reload the map you want to use every time you download from the EMS. A person whos went to cali for the train will know of these things. Highly recommended to find a trained EMS person before you decide to purchase it.

Improvement wise i consider the EMS to be the best choice for turbo and supercharged application in regards of engine management for the S2000. I consider the Autronic system however they don't make a plug and play unit for the S2000. When I had the EMS on the car tuned it was difference between night and day and the security of knowing that your engine is tuned correctly without any piggyback system is well worth the money.
