Default ECU/software and bugs

I would like to know for those of you that have installed aftermarket ECU's of any problems with the ECU's themselves or software bugs.

I will start with: (if I have it correct)

AEM EMS -stock temp gauge doesnt read

how does e-manage compare to AEM as far as tunability aside from the temp gauge bug?

I don't have experience with the EMS or the eManage. I've just been reading the threads on them. As far as the tuneability, the EMS definitely allows full control over everything while the eManage doesn't. The eManage is just a very ellaborate band-aid. However, I doubt there is much difference between them (performance wise) at WOT.
