emanage ignition help
I just tried wiring up the ignition harness today and for some reason - cyc 4 wasn't firing or misfiring - the plug was wet. I checked the jumpers and dial and firing order is correct. I believe it is 1-3-4-2 off the top of my head. ANyways, my car runs great w/no cels prior to this on a comptech s/c.
I went and rewired igniton wires back to stock and unplugged the emanage ignition harness - car ran fine. So I know it is not a faulty coil pack or fouled spark plug. My question is that I started up the car after installing the ignition harness without powering up my laptop for the support tool. I believe ignition option is UNCHECKED. Could this have been the problem?
I read in the manual that if ppl have problems with starting the car JP2 should be set to 2-3 instead of 1-2. Although everyone here is running JP2 as 1-2.
I'm planning on trying to wire it back up again in a few days but I just want to make sure I am not overlooking anything - I thought that if ignition option was unchecked it would just ignore the emanage in terms of the ignition control aspect.
Sorry for the lengthy post.

Since your car is almost running normally, I can assume you have the coil's wired in the firing order.
CH1 -> Coil 1
CH2 -> Coil 3
CH3 -> Coil 4
CH4 -> Coil 2
I'd 1st double check your wiring connections on coil 4. From the brief time I was using the ignition harness, I don't believe the ignition option has to be checked for the ignition system to operate normally.

Here's mine:
4-8-C Rotory switch settings
JP1 - 1-2 (Left two of three)
JP2 - 1-2 (Right two of three)
JP3 - 2-3 (Left two of three)
JP4 - 1-2 (Both two)
JP5 - Open (None)
JP6 - Open (None)
JP7 - Open (None)

Just a FYI for anyone wiring up the ignition portion for the Emanage. I have finally fixed the problem I was having earlier. It turns out that yellow/white which is suppose to be coil 4 IN - is actually coil 4 OUT. This is the only wire on the ignition harness that has a white stripe for OUT - all the other wires have black stripes.
It took me a long time to figure this out because cyclinder 4 wasn't firing - all wiring connections were checked. I wired it back to stock - starts up no problem. I just tooka gamble and reversed the wiring and it started p perfectly with no cel.
I hope this helps.
