Default End-link inspection

I posted this in Brake/Suspension forum, but no answer (not enough traffic).

"My front swaybar end links look very clean, but they move somewhat freely.
Is it normal that they move freely or are they supposed to be very stiff?
Is it time for new end links?"

Thanks.

If they move smoothly in the link, they are still good. If they wobble/shake in the link then they need to be replaced.

They should move freely. It's a ball joint. If they wobble or are loose ( as previously noted) they may be worn out.

So, stiff or not-stiff do not matter as long as they move freely? I just thought new links are more rigid than worn links.
