Engine bog at idle
I'm experiencing the engine bog/ rpm dip when coming to a stop. It dips to around 500ish and then returns to 1K. It is more pronounced with the A/C on. I've read quite a few threads about this, but no one ever seems to post the best solution ... just a lot of try this and try that.
What is the most common solution? TB cleaning, MAP whack/ replacement/ tie, other?
I don't experience bog on acceleration.

I've got the same thing sometimes, Ive cleaned everything your mentioned: airbox, TB + plate, map whack, ecu reset, gas additive, IACV, etc.....
The only thing I can possibly think of is adjusting your idle a little higher, I was thinking of doing the same.. Honestly I dont even know where the idle is supposed to be from the factory, I think its between 800-1000 when warm.

reset the ecu yesterday. I wonder if this heat is really hosing it up. ECU reset didn't do much. I unplugged the MAP, and it looked good. I didn't zip tie it back in or do any serious whacks with a screwdriver.
Push the clutch in at 1k RPM you will notice that it does not dip down to 500, and back to 1-1.5k.
There was a article on this somewhere that also included rev matching but I am not sure where it is. Most s2000's do this and unplugging the ECU will not resolve the problem since our ECU is a learning ECU. I notice everytime I wait for my car to slow down to 1k and then push in the clutch all is good.

I had a similar issue with my 2.0l G20 >>> a TB and MAF cleaning corrected the majority of the issue.

Its normal. I've done everything possible on mine, even a whole new shortblock (scored cylinder on old one) and it still shakes sometimes when its really hot out. It does it the most with the A/C on, but hasnt died on me at least. Its just something you will have to live with owning an s2000. Some people say getting a torque damper helps alot, maybe you should look into that.

THat contradicts everything else I've read, and I cannot drive the car that way.

For example I will be shifting down and when I come to a light in second gear I will push in the clutch exactly at 1k RPM and the RPM's do not dip at all. If I do the same thing but push the clutch in at lets say 2-4k it will dip and then rise back up to 1k.
I read a article and it was what encouraged me to do this so far it works everytime. Yes its annoying to watch your RPM's drop to 1k. I have read that it does not harm your engine for it to dip so you should be safe.

An aftermarket/lighter flywheel will also cause this, I have an F22 with an ap1 flywheel and mine constantly does this. But more so with the a/c on due to more load on the engine. I think that when you let off the gas, the load on the engine(a/c) causes it to drop below idle for a sec. Rev matching should help though.
