Default Engine bogging below ~2500rpm

i did a search and the only threads i found on the topic were weather or A/C related.. so hopefully someone can help me out

here are the details:

-engine warmed up
-outside temp is 8 degrees C/ 46 degrees F
-bogs/bucks/misfires(?) when under load below 2500rpm
-A/C is off
-clutch is dying but not slipping noticably
-to avoid the bogging when starting from a stop, i have to let the clutch pedal up at 2700 rpm
-it also occurs if i decelerate from from a higher RPM. for example, i'm cruising at 5k, decelerate to 2k, then apply the gas again the car will start running like crap

any ideas?

thanks

yes.

but if i rev it then let the RPMs drop, they will dip low and the car will studder a bit then they bounce back to a normal idle

Operating this car below 2500 RPM's is called "lugging" the engine. It is hard on the engine because it doesn't have enough torque/HP to perform the workload below 2500. Why are you trying to do this?

so you mean if i'm rolling on flat ground, the car cannot be operated at 2500 RPM? and the car is meant to nearly stall if i rev it in neutral and let the RPMs drop? i've had 2 S2Ks over the last year and a bit and this has only been a problem for a few weeks. there is definitely something wrong.

If this is your complaint, then I say it is normal but very bad for the engine. In fact, I don't think anything could be harder on your engine short of being low on oil:

-bogs/bucks/misfires(?) when under load below 2500rpm

If you are maneuvering around in the taller gears (1st and 2nd), then you can get away with it sometimes.

Sometimes, when bucking and bogging, you yourself (driver) get pushed forwards & backwards and you unwillingly press & let go of the throttle, making the car buck & bog even more.

Without a downshift that's to be expected.

That said: not that long ago someone posted that a new battery cured bogging & idle dipping, but that person also noticed the dash lights flicker during the bog /idle dip.
