The car is older than 3 years, so the warranty period has expired despite the low mileage. Sometimes Honda will do a goodwill repair. The chances are greater if you have a history of taking it to the dealer for service.

The drivetrain warranty is 5 years. The rest of the car is only 3 years.

Not if you haven't been checking the oil level on a regular basis (ie at least once a week or more depending on the mileage you do)

I would call a dealer or check Honda's website.

First of all, the warranty changes by market. It is 3 years 36K miles in North America. The 5 year powertrain just started (in 06?).

When he says his car is an 03 that means that he got the car in 03. He would call it an 03 plate. It may very well be the new body style but still would have to be about 4 years old.

Even if the new AP2 body and chassis, he is still running the F20C engine and I would think that oil useage would be an issue but NOT to the level he is describing.
